IBS Electronics, Inc. is committed to supporting our community, recently participating in Viasat, Inc.’s Technology Fair, in support of the Semper Fi Fund.
Viasat Inc. is a communications company based in Carlsbad, California, with additional operations across the United States and worldwide. Viasat is a provider of high-speed satellite broadband services and secure networking systems covering military and commercial markets.
The Viasat Technology fair attracts hundreds of corporate sponsors and participants, providing them with the opportunity to present their companies capabilities and technology to nearly 1,500 Viasat Engineers, many of them Service Veterans.
This private event and fundraiser for the Semper Fi Fund was held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at the Viasat Campus in Carlsbad, CA.
Semper Fi Fund is a non-profit 501 organization that provides a variety of programs to assist wounded veterans in all branches of the United States Armed Forces. The foundation provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured service members.
For Viasat, veterans are an important and significant part of the workforce. They come from different branches of the military and varied backgrounds, but many of them face a similar challenge: transitioning from the military to the civilian workforce.
“Viasat is committed to supporting the military community,” said Nancy Kleefisch, social impact leader for the company’s military programs.
Overall, the two hour event was a success, raising over $60,000 for the Semper Fi Fund!
