[February 7, 2022], Muntinlupa City, Philippines— Today marks another milestone for IBS Electronics as the Philippines office has been certified as a Great Place To Work. This prestigious distinction is awarded only to organizations that have demonstrated excellence in the areas of trust, respect, and fairness.
Earlier this year, Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture, conducted an online survey and assessment of IBS Philippines. They polled feedback based on the metrics that define a healthy workplace for the employees: trust in the people they work for, pride in their contributions, and camaraderie, in which the company scored high results. The certification will have effect from February 2022 until the year 2023.
According to the Great Place to Work Trust Index Survey, 100% of the employees in the Philippines stated that IBS provides a good employee experience, workplace culture, and corporate excellence. As reported in the 2021 Employee Experience Trend Report, only 53% of employees have the intention of staying in their current job. Compared to that, it demonstrates how much the employees appreciate the company’s efforts in maintaining a healthy and engaging work environment.
“It’s important for us to maintain an environment where everyone can connect their work with what they value,” said Beth Dureza, Asia Pacific Managing Director at IBS Electronics. “This means having a sense of purpose in what they do. If everyone feels that their efforts contribute to a greater purpose and their voices are being heard, there is no need for micromanagement from the top down. In the survey, employees at IBS Philippines highly regarded the company’s atmosphere, job opportunities, rewards and recognition, and management. Here are some of the focal points of the survey:
· 100% said that IBS Philippines has a supportive workplace environment.
· 99% said that the management is approachable and easy to talk with.
· 97% said they felt welcome when they joined the company.
· 96% said they are treated fairly and with respect regardless of their position.
“Being GPTW certified validated the efforts that our leadership team had been working on for many years. We continuously strive to provide a psychologically safe environment for everyone to speak up and contribute their ideas. I’m glad that it manifested in the survey results,” Beth said.
Various IBS employees gave their testimonies about the company as part of the survey, citing that the workplace is engaging and lively, which allows growth. Also, within the survey, employees were allowed to give feedback on what they felt the company should improve on.
The certification comes at a propitious time as IBS continues to expand its presence in Asia.
